Lone Bear Cabin is a 3-bedroom, 3-bath cabin on three wooded acres in Rileyville, Virginia, with a view of Massanutten Mountain. It sleeps 6. Luray Caverns and the Thornton Gap entrance to Skyline Drive are about 20 minutes away.

EV CHARGING
- ChargePoint Home Flex, Level 2, 40 A, J1772 plug. Tesla drivers need their J1772 adapter.
INTERNET AND PHONES
- Starlink Wi-Fi, usually 50 to 100 Mbps
- AT&T gets LTE and Wi-Fi calling works. T-Mobile is good. Verizon is weak, so use Wi-Fi calling or the landline.
RIVER ACCESS
The cabin is not on the river. The neighborhood has two private river access points for guests: a put-in 0.9 miles away with parking, and a take-out 1.2 miles away. Tubing between them takes about 2 hours and kayaking about 30 minutes. Bring your own tubes or kayaks. We have 6 adult life jackets (size M). Bring vests for kids or XL sizes.
GETTING HERE
The last mile is a graded gravel lane off US-340. Any car is fine in normal weather. AWD helps in heavy snow.
CHECK-IN AND HOUSE RULES
- Self check-in after 4 pm with a keypad. Check-out by 11 am, and we can't offer late check-out. Early check-in is possible when the night before is open; we confirm by 5 pm the day before.
- Up to 6 guests. The well and septic are not licensed for more.
- Dogs are welcome: up to 2, under 50 lb each, $100 per stay.
- No smoking or vaping. No parties or events. The person booking must be 21 or older.
- Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am.
- From Feb 15 to Apr 30, Virginia allows outdoor fires only between 4 pm and midnight, and never during a burn ban. The gas fireplace and grill are always fine.
- Wildlife lives here too, so keep food inside and use the animal-proof trash can.
